International Conference: An interdisciplinary approach to the practice of fragmentation in Greek sanctuaries and Bronze Age hoards

From 22 to 24 November, the international conference "An interdisciplinary approach to the practice of fragmentation in Greek sanctuaries and Bronze Age hoards" will take place at the Leibniz-Zentrum für Archäologie (LEIZA) in Mainz. Be there on site or participate online.

The conference originates from the DFG-project “Fragmentation of votive offerings in the sanctuary of Olympia – Research on the background of a ritual practice”, which seeks to investigate the practice of fragmentation of copper alloy votive offerings from the sanctuary of Olympia using material, statistical and spatial analysis.

The aim of the conference is to analyse the practice of fragmentation across time and space and from a cultural perspective using different approaches.
